I would say between 250 to 500 ml per 10000km.

    1 Litre per 5000km isn't unusual.

Mine would be the most underpowered pathetic rover V8 in Oz, and even when towing a Caravan it doesnt use any oil,,
    even less at the moment,,

My friend P38 Rangie 4.6 will eat approx 0.5-1l/1000km.. I think piston rings are worn.. They are replaced, approx 30 000km ago, but it will eat..

    Thanks JC

This seems about what mine goes threw, so that's nothing to worry about then is it? It's got 145000km on the clock and doesn't seem to be down on power...

If you have a manual, it is also dependant on how you drive it...

If you use engine braking a lot, the RV8 will consume noticeably more oil.

    Thanks for this info guys.
I too thought mine was going through oil pretty quick, but from the posts here it appears mine is just the norm too!

    Cheers all,

Engine breaking is something I always use, so this would explain the use of oil also, is there a reason for this?
