Mine has been off since purchasing my vehicle (a year and a half ago) due to the nut on the fuel cooler breaking off. I recently bought a Nutsert took and some M8 nutserts and intend to refit it soon purely for neatness looks in the engine bay.
EDIT: fitted the new nutsert in - total cost $40.50 ($40.00 for the nutsert rivet tool and $0.50 for the M8 nutsert). Had to drill the hole out a further 0.5mm to fit it in. Engine cover is now back on.
The cage nuts just clip in the hole and on occasion pop out.
At least the nutserts mean you won't have that particular problem again.
Ah ok, I didn't realise that. I thought as the cage had broken it meant that I would have to have it rewelded or so and I wasn't keen to remove the part.
Justin Cooper actually suggested to me to use the nutsert, so perhaps he's also not aware that a new cage nut can just be popped in.
