I'm an idiot - next stop auto Elec?

After getting my D2a back after a week at the auto trans having a modified ATF hose fitted (warranty/free thanks Cameron after the original rubbed through on my modified oversize intercooler), I decided not to follow Paul's words of wisdom and connected up my nanocom at the nanocom end - oops!!!
Immediately I now have no clock or radio (nor nanocom) working, also since then the car sometimes won't start (won't turn over) unless I put the immobiliser on and off. I've checked the fuses, as has the RAC man who came to check the no start issue. Fuses fine but no power to active side of fuse for radio etc.

Any words of wisdom before I make an appointment with my auto sparkie?

    Hi Gav

Sorry mate, can't advise on your issue, but I am interested in your cooler set up, can you supply some info on it please, and please clarify what you mean about the nannocom...it went over my head, sorry......rather not make same mistake myself....they're too bloody expensive to replace

    Cheers
Kev, and good luck getting a result.

Thanks to Maestro Dylan (dswatts) electrical problem resolved - it was a simple fuse issue, but just not the ones I was looking at. The RAC guy just confused the issue/s with his magic light.

Kev, Cameron at Auto Trans R Us in Balcatta supplied/fitted my additional cooler for my auto trans - for towing, heavy going etc, and its brilliant. It's quite a big job as they have to cut/modify at least one of the braces near the radiator - I think about $1,800 all up installed with VDO ATF temp sender/gauge. Effectively an additional small cooler with its own fan, including auto and over-ride switching. My beastie runs almost too cool, especially on a winters day on the freeway at 60 -65 celcius,. He is the guru/go to guy in Perth for auto trans stuff, even if he drives one of those "have to be highly modified jap T cars to keep up with our wee beasties".

If you connect the nanocom first to the OBD port (thereby having power in the cable) and then at the nanocom end, you can short out fuses at the least, and your nanocom at worst - I quess because the multiple connecting prongs are very close together. DONT DO IT! (like Dylan and I did)

Today I finally fitted Paul's nanocom cable mod and its extremely dainty and elegant - remembering that my nanocom sits in a wee bracket just under the RHS coin tray
