I did mine around 2 years, was told I would get an extra 100km per tank as well. (this was the clincher in doing it)
Approx 10-15kw increase I recall the quote, it was also $600.
you can tell the difference when driving in mid rev range.
But no improvement with km/tank
It actaully went backwards by approx 1%.

From the MY date am assuming your is a Thor upgrade engine with Bosch motronic engine management? If so, good luck with it... I'm surprised they have a chip unless it's a "piggy back" type since for all intents and purposes the motronic system as fitted to the 4.0 and 4.6 V8s from 1999 -2002 is virtually tweak proof...deliberately designed that way by BMW engineers...Quote:
