So simple but so effective, I might give this a crack as well. Because I know whats going to happen now if I don't.
Well over the last week my D2 has been sitting like a dog cocking its leg overnite with the rear left dropping.
Obviously a leak in the SLS system. I didnt want the compressor to die as it was replaced 2 years ago so I needed to sort this until I have the $$$ for some new bags.
A while back I was able to grab a couple of spare bags (Many thanks to Mattyg), and followed UP's great guide www.discovery2.co.uk / Rear Suspension Air Bags in changing them over. ( I did it without removing a wheel, with one jack)
All went well then overnite it dropped in the right side....
So with 4 bags and no real way of testing them I searched here for a HardRange bypass kit to find they are not readily available anymore.
So I made my own.
Using 2 of the brass connectors from some bags I had a mate braze some brass versions of these T20PH PLUG HOSE TAIL 1/4" | Get Tools Direct ( $4.50 ea) that were cut in half so I had just the ferrule.
They ended up looking like pic 1.
Then from the local Bridgestone and grabbed to 2x truck valve stems ($5.00 ea), which I cut in half and rounded the cut.
Then from the local Pirtek grabbed 1mtr of "Redline" 6mm id air hose ($5.00) and 4x hose clamps ($1.00 ea).
I connected the lot together and pumped up the bags with my Dr air to 70 PSI and left overnite, as per pic 2.
2 of the bags are U/S but the other 2 are good, back in the car and have now been sitting since yesterday all good.
Pic 3 is of the finished product with them shortend to about 5-6 inches log to chuck in the car for a emergency kit.
All up $28 if you can get someone to do the brazing.
Hope this helps, or if anyone needs a borrow of them let me know.

You can get some ready to go valves from eBay that just slip onto the 4mm line. Less than $50 for 4. You can either put 1 onto the input line, or 1 each onto the output lines.
I made up my own with a schraeder valve with threaded end onto a bulk head connector, which provids a slip on 4mm fitting, as I couldn't find them at a reasonable cost on eBay. Subsequent searches with different terms found another supplier that has them for a good price and no work required -
LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER P38 AIR SUSPENSION PUMP BYPASS VALVES | eBay
ask for 4mm pipe (Discovery) rather than the offered 6mm (Range Rover)
Years ago I bought the emergency kit when I had a D2 from HardRange but never used it, pro'ly still have it lying around somewhere, and the OP says they aren't making them anymore, so I was interested to come across this emergency kit Air bag suspension for LAND ROVER DISCOVERY Series II SE7 98-Jun.04 (airbagman.com.au) seems to also fit Rangie P38s and Classics as well. Seems a bit exy at $125 but looking at their brochure that may include a compressor?
