My mechanic is fond of telling me it'd be cheaper to go round Aus in a learjet :D
At just over 200k I did head gaskets. Block was excellent with no liner movement and good pressure tests. Heads were excellent and no valve sest regression at all despite lpg and towing 2 tonn regularly on lpg for last 100k klm....while it was all.apart did new cam two up from stock, new tappets and timing gear, port matching. I just went new stainless high flow cats and it already had high fllw muffler. ...goes very hard:)
Cheers
I read the thread on the thermostats, definitely worthwhile I think. Thanks for the info.
My radiator from John Craddock is definitely china for the price, I'm rethinking that decision. LR genuine hoses and rad I think is going to be the call.
I'm using Penrite purple coolant and redline water wetter plus the thermostat and a new rad for my sub 90deg temps.
Thermostat & Housing - Genuine Land Rover at www.rimmerbros.co.uk here's the guy!
Any tips on buying a LR genuine hose kit? Just priced up a genuine LR rad, $600 from the same site phew!
Insurance paid for my Rad.
Would be interested in a hose kit price, esp silicon, but they don't seem to like the V8 for that.
FWIW I found the thermostat cheaper locally from Range Parts once you took postage into account.
Yeah yeah funny bugger :lol2:
