Hi there - I used the Ironman 2" spring lift on my 300Tdi with their 45mm (I think) foam cell shockers - the ride was much improved over the original suspension but I found I had to make up a 20mm rear spring spacer to bring the ride level - that may have been my fault though as I always had the vehicle loaded up for work. Never had any issues with articulation and did about 200,oook before I sold it and had not had to touch it - lots of heavy corrugations and the shocks were still good - are twin tube so even with a hefty dent in one of my rears all performed well.

    Hello,
I don't know about the springs, but I had the foam cell shocks, they were replaced once under warranty. While they were still good I gave them away. Not a product I would buy again. Sorry........... I brought a kit from Suspension Are Us on the East coast some where. Two years later with lots of bumps still going strong Dobinsons I think.

    2" lift

I'm a complete novice but this may help.

I recently upgraded my disco with a 2 inch lift (springs and shocks) from Ultimate Suspension. Shocks are rebuildable, made in Australia, as are springs. I think you could have them alter the damping if you got a rebuild. I went for 2" lift on comfort springs, and will fit the polyair set up eventually to support the rear when loaded - that way I get a nice ride the rest of the time when unloaded. Service was good, had to send down details of wheel centre to mudguard loaded and unloaded etc. Lifted the front about 55 mm and rear about 35 mm (rear wasn't sagged but front was) and is now reasonable riding on road and great off road. With a steering damper was about $1150 i think. Turned the car from a wallowing whale into a taut handling car (for a non-ace disco!). I have no doubt you can get a firmer ride for on-road but I wanted locally made and serviced. If you had a steel bullbar and winch etc you could get heavier springs, but I have neither

Had some ironman shocks put on in Tassie, drove back to WA towing a van, (also fitted with the airbags within the springs), so only some 5-7000K done.

2x shocks completely stuffed, one half stuffed and one ok. Sorry cannot recommend them. I lost my purchase details so couldn't claim warranty, but honestly wouldn't have put them back on anyway.

Van tandem axle, balanced, only towed on sealed roads, so no way shocks should have failed.

Go Dobinson, with Bilstein shocks, or I believe Dobinsons shocks are ok?, but definetily their springs. I've had them on a hilux for 10 years, loaded, offroad etc and they are still the same height as when fitted.

    Cheers

I`ve got 2" lift with foam cells, firestone helper airbags in the rear and 265/75/16 muddies. Done 10,000k`s with no problems.

That combo gives a nice ride.

Iron man coils on the defer rears 200000kms have replaced the fronts after 180000. rears still good(Trayback) Shocks foamcells, fronts were oki 80000, Rears? Crap!! kept breaking the top mounting eyes!! And they would leak if they didnt braek before hand! Cant recommend them.
