thanks, yeah haha huge torque setting! not progressed much at all! my ex who is now a good friend came round and was going to bring the load tester but his dad forgot to take it to him so did not get that done yet. i also forgot how filthy my engine bay is, so going to clean that up before do much in there. is mud everywhere! he can see a couple not so good looking earths around the battery. so is going to help me clean them up, and then fit an earth kit through it. hopefully load test battery still to either remove that from the possible problem list or hit bullseye! i will also hopefully get under there today to have a good look at the loom. think will wait to see what battery load test reveals before i pull xyz switch out to clean. I also have service kit for it now. and i have enough cash for new hub finally yay however tossing up between having to send the VW to auto electrician to sus this freaky stuff out. i cannot sell that car until get that fixed. so might have to use my disco fund :( though i need the disco on the road asap. so maybe golf will wait a few weeks. sucks being disabled on a very small income with almost more bills than money coming in :( i do however have first modelling job today :D might see if can get some piccies with my disco :D hehe!
hahaha yeah i forgot about the new stakenut! will get one though.
but does anybody know when changing the hub, if you need to bleed brakes after? or can i just move the caliper out of the way while i change the hub, and if i dont damage/remove tubes etc then i will be ok in not having to bleed brakes? as you need the landrover scanner tool thing to bleed brakes dont you?
we are flooded in here haha i need my disco so badly right now! golf cant swim like it can!!! oh i fixed my golf too!! haha!
Yes, When changing the rear hub you can release the caliper and tie it aside without disturbing the system :) Just tie it up so no weight rests upon the lines and be careful with the rear lines not to kink the pipes short.Release all the pipe clipes along the diff to give it movement.
Good to hear the Golf is going again, at least you have some transport , even if not until the water goes down :D
Cheers Scott
awesome thankyou :D :D so i just need a new stake nut, locktight and i can get it done tonight hopefully :D
yep! ive now got it up for sale too, the golf that is. steaming along with teh pano, and my disco and i only have one bum so dont need so many cars, nor can i afford to run so many. so ill have to part with my golf. i will cry when i sell it. wouldnt if won lotto or something and could afford to keep it!
And dont forget that Humungas torque wrench!!!:D Yes too few bums and too much regoes make for a sad life sometimes :( I know if I could I would have MORE!! :D >_> <_< The missus didnt hear that did she?:o
Cheers Scott
haha yeah dads got one of those!!! so got that covered :) LOL its the opposite with me, being female, im the one with mroe toys!!! hahaha! though happy and single so can do what i wish :) well, if i earnt what i used to i could! not on much at all now. excited when i sell the golf it will free up cash so that i can then spend money on the disco and get new wheels/tyres/uhf/nice big trans cooler/ heck even chip it!! woooo! getting excited! that and my pano is all i need!!
oh mines a front hub that will be getting changed, assuming i can still move brake lines carefully out of the way in a similar fashion?
