wooo drives straight again bit of play in steering but i will adjsut it! still got a grinding noise, but now that the bearing is not noisy i can hear the rear brakes. had a look and not much meat left on them so will change them this week. stil lgot the XYZ switch issue to sort out. but its running ok again at the minute. its also got a weird noise coming from left front. cant hear it until 80kms hardly, gets faster/louder as i go faster. sounds like osmething stuck on the wheel or something that spins. have to have a close look. probably got a stick or something going roudn and round.
what areas am i meant to make sure are greased, etc in thse beasts? i cant remember did work it out but now ive forgotten!!

What were the symptoms that you noticed with the worn out bearing/hub? I've got a strange noise that sounds like it's at the right interval to be occurring with each wheel rotation, but have found no vertical play in any of the wheels when flexing them holding top and bottom.

the worn out one just made the most awful grinding noise as it spun, and had heaps of play and the car wandered. all the others had no play at all and no grinding noises. the noise i can hear sounds like somethigns stuck on an axle or in the wheel or something. hope its not another bearing just yet LOL! took me ages to save for that one! ill get rear brake pads tomorrow so that will hopefully fix the grinding under braking from the rear! and they look like not much meat on them at all! then ill have a good look under the car around the othe rfront wheel incase somethign is caught. lots of flooding here so had to go through really deep water already, so could have picked up some stuff from in there.

If it's not one thing, it's something else - it's just reminding you it's most definitely not a Toyota!

I've had a few noises like that before and I found various combinations of hardened mud, stones and sticks jammed between things rubbing on the discs. Definitely worth a good look before pulling anything apart, although you might find having the wheel off makes it easier.

I'm just having trouble visualising you working under the bonnet after seeing the pics of you on top of it ... um, sorry

A grinding scraping noise, ... try backing up & if you can ride the brakes in reverse for a couple of meters, if its a stick or stone stuck in there that will usually loosen it.
