Hi Phil. Yep metallic noises from the engine bay are often a sign of HB on the way out, as well as a squeak on shut down. Not sure about aftermarket HBs, as I said I'd really only trust genuine for such a critical engine component unless it was OEM standard. I'd say you've either got a dud or the LR dealer cocked up the install something chronic and as such, you're lucky it happened on install and they should cough up. We used to live in Tamworth with our first D2, the service at the LR stealer used to be fantastic, the mechanic really knew his stuff. Then he left :(
