    source for balljoint gaiters?

Anyone know a source for balljoint gaiters or a part number?

One of mine is gone though the ball joint ( lower LH)seems OK.
Geez every problem on this car seems to be hours of work to fix or get at or cost a fortune.
eg remove headlining to fit new plip receiver.
remove inlet manifold to fix Fuel Pressure regulator leak
remove bloody balljoints to replace a gaiter.

Maybe I will cut one then slip it in and glue it with superglue.

You could try someone like PEPS or AutoOne - my local PEPS carries and can get balljoint gaiters, either based on the application eg D2 or on dimensions

Not always successful, couldn't get anything for my Kombi, but you may get lucky

I think the general consensus here is, if the gaiters need replacing, it's time to replace the ball joints as well.

Only replace if you didnt noice and it got full of grinding paste...ie sand and mud etc...otherwise steel should and does last a lot longer than the rubber.

    Cheers

Ps try a good rubber glue after cleaning first

We recently changed the Swivel Ball Joints on the boys D2 V8 I would not change any swivels unless the movement in them indicates excessive wear.
RAVE lists that SBJ replacement should only be done three times in the life of the axle housing. A fix for a damaged gaitor may lengthen the life of the SBJs
