    M&S lights fixed.

For over a week I have been in limp mode with M&S lights flashing.
I have had the odd problem with the m&s coming on about once a fortnight. The fix was to get under the truck and wiggle the harness on top of the gearbox.
Till last week this worked. Then nothing fixed it. I went to a mob in Geelong called DTM (auto transmission) .
Young lad named Gavin. an ace with a diagnostic computer, plugged into my truck this morning. No faults showing, wouldn't you know it!.
He pulled the solenoid plug off the top of the gear box and cleaned it out. Boom away we go. NO MORE LIGHTS!.
He had to have spent at least two hours on it and they only charged $80.00.
Much cheaper than the XYZ switch I was going to buy , Especially as it would not have fixed the fault.
I can't tell you how chuffed I am to have my baby back in full health again.... Till the next thing , that is.
I just thought I would post my findings here as it may help someone else out in the same situation.
    Regards Nick (worane)

I know this is an old thread but it needs amending. There is no solenoid plug on the top of the gearbox. There is plug just aft of the xyz switch which could be called the solenoid plug.

It is a twist type bayonet socket. It is very waterproof if it has been fitted correctly.
It has 3 keyways in the socket to help you relocate it correctly.
