    Hood lining fabric supplier

Hi all. I need to replace the hood lining fabric and I was wondering if anyone knows where to get some in cream that is wide enough not to have a join in it. I have found a grey alternative in a felt kind of finish but am keen on a beige or cream. Can wait for it to come from os if need be. Cheers Matt

Not really an answer to your question but why not get it done by a professional?

I had my P38A done here in Sydney for $110 (I removed and refitted the shell). That price included the sunroof panel.

If you can get it done by a professional for the price that Ron has quoted, snatch their hand off, as I did my D1 and it was a pig of a job.

Doesn't answer your original question, but very much worth looking at as an alternative.

    Auto Headlining

2144XW Shale is apparently pretty close to the original headliner in colour.

I was quoted $32 per metre +gst with a minimum order of 4 metres back in December.

    cheers

Scouse and I both had ours done by the same bloke for the same price. That was a year or so back so prices could have risen.

    See http://www.aulro.com/afvb/p38a-range...d-trimmer.html

There's a rather interesting dark headlining in that thread.

I also gave some tips on removing the sunroof in that thread.

    Thanks Paul.

I am getting one done in one disco by a pro but it is Grey finish and the other disco is Very cream and I don't want gray as it is the only option he has. he said nothing else is wide enough. I have removed the shell so I will remove it and do it myself on the next one if this Shale stuff works out. or just supply the fabric for him to do it.

Paul did the Shale stuff need a join?

    Thanks

I still have bought mine. It's starting to look very tent like so ill be ordering some soon. I know at least one member who has purchased has said the colour is a little darker than stock but not by much.

I had a couple of swatches of two colours I thought would be ok. They were too grey and dark but the fabric itself is very similar to stock.

The 64" wide fabric covers the full width in one piece. No joins needed. I came across this seller after seeing the colour code and width mentioned on a US forum that sells headlining kits for D2's.

    Cheers

I seriously need to do my lining. Its getting like the inside of a bedouin tent

My dilema is while I'm quiet competant to take the whole lining thing down from the roof, I'm wondering how I then get it to the fabric relining place.
Being that its the length of the inside of the disco ????

My alternative transport is a motorbike or the wifes 2 door cabriolet, both of which would be highly amusing but not practical or safe.

Anyone out there performed this exercise?
