Rhino Roof Bar legs for a D2

    Hi all

I got a cheap set of Heavy duty Rhino roof bars for Charlie a while ago. They are a great bar but I don’t like the standard 280mm legs, just a bit too high so I’m looking for other alternatives.

Reading other posts on this site I see that some people have used 210mm legs with a bit cut away to fit the roof profile along with a spacer or 2. Now the Rhino web site lists 2 different 210mm legs the standard one, RL210 and another specifically for the defender RL210DS8.

So my first question today is can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 legs and which may be a better fit for a D2?

Secondly I’ve also noted that a couple of people here have recommended the Rola 230mm legs as being a perfect fit. Has anyone fitted these to a HD Rhino bar at all and if so are any modifications required?

    Cheers

    Hi Steve

I use the Rola supports - fit well and tidy, but also use rola bars - so I cannot advise on that issue

I think the rhino bars will fit on the Rola legs, best bet would be to go check out the stockist for a first hand view

I've got 210 legs on mine with a pioneer rack, low profile and looks good

If no one knows the answer on here, pop into the Roof Rack Superstore in Cannington (Albany Hwy) they seem to carry pretty much all the Rhino stuff on the shelf, and have always been helpful with me in the past.

No affiliation to them, just had good service (and prices ) from them.

I have the G23D31 legs on my D2 and I "assume" are 230mm high. They just clear the roof rails. Fitted to the heavy duty bars.

    Thanks Ron

Are your bars Rhino or Rola ones?

The defender leg will have a cut out to allow for the defender roof profile, it will be worth checking that you have the right clamp assembly as well as they vary between makes/models of vehicles.

Oops, I miss read your post. My legs and bars are Rola. But they do sit just right on the D2.

good prices yes, but the past 2 times i've been there they've been useless, telling me the supplier no longer makes a certain fitting/bar/etc to suit the D2. Ring the supplier, told they do, given part numbers to order. gone back to the shop, been told in no uncertain terms that they do not do that anymore, refused to ring to check and basically told me to get lost.

went to another roof rack store in osb park (autoextra) instead and got the right gear ordered in 2 minutes.

Thanks all for your replies. Looks like I'll be heading to one of the roof rack specialists for a bit of a chat

    Cheers
