    Water pumps!!!!!

Well, Decided yesterday that I could not put of the inevitable any longer. The weep from the TD5's pump was growing . So into it and man! what a learning curve about hidden bolts, nuts and just how tight a 40nm bolt is after 225000Ks but I prevailed, cleaned, replaced , polished and buffed, well not the last 2 Refilled the coolant and retired for a coffee

Returned to finish off..........and hang on , whats that water.......? Drip dripping from the weep hole again! Checked and yes thats where its coming from! Sooooo I felt like doing a Henry VIII on it but restrained me self partly as that is a bigger job and dismantled it ALL again! The new spanker of a pump is faulty!! water is making its way out the weep hole in it. So a days work for nought!

So replacement due on Friday,Tomorrow being ANZAC . And I was planning on being in Millmerran for the weekend. Gonna be dang tight schedule now!
Just goes to show Murphy is alive and well! Oh and Eurospares? Dont touch! Bit hard when that was all I had though......

    Cheers Scott

Scott. What a pain in the arse. How long did it take you? Obviously you will do it a lot quicker second time.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

    oh well...

On the bright side it didn't let go halfway to Millmerran....I replaced my pump with an aftermarket recently and redid less then 10K later with a genuine for the same reason....I know the feeling

Yes thankful for small mercy And the replacements replacement is a genuine this time! Does cost more but saves in the long run I think.

Yes, although I did not get it off him but off another "forest Glen" mob and was assured they give a good run!! Having said that I have had really good runs out of aftermarket pumps on the series and on holdens and falcons, just I think now a days the workmanship of the aftermarket brigade has taken a nosedive ahead of profits!

Not good ..the "forest Glen " mob should know by now..that's where I got my short life ! replacement pump from too. That's bad if they're still saying they are okay to use.
