There were some early, lower trim level p38 that came with 7" wide alloys in North America.
When I got my first disco, I wanted 16" tires, went to local Bob Jane tire store and they had a stack of steel rims. I brought 5 at $50 each
this is how they look on the back door

I shall take some better pics this evening and post them up tomorrow

They are genuine Landrover. Most D2s with 16" alloys only had 4,the spare was steel with a plastic dish hiding the rim on the back door.

Yes, Land Rover part
I got them as origianlly my first D2 came with 18" alloys but off road tire selection was limited and then transfered them to the secound D2a. I still have the 5 16" allows stored as well, but have these on as the tires have plenty of life in them.
As well, one of my spares (I have two) is badly buckled. It was on the roof when we had a roll over. I wonder if an allow would have survived. I am often looking at the reliability of items, equipment and endevour to go for the most reliable. In a worst case scenario, steel wheels can be welded / re-shaped to get you home / rescued etc where as alloy - well, break one of those and you are done.
you might be suprised at the cost of shipping, if you do your research and take the time, you could get them in a consolidated shipment, a single container with other peoples stuff in it to off set the shipping costs.
Here in Aus, Triumph Land Rover in Adelaide are big suppliers. I suspect that there are many more around in Europe and depending on where you are in Canada, may be close / cheaper

Looks like you are a lucky man...steel wheels, a D2, AND a D6!

It's funny you should mention that. I have a set coming to me in a container right now. The main content of the container is a Defender 110 being transported from the UK. Sadly, the Defender is not mine.
