Bump. Cmon guys, with all the trainspotters out there, nobody knows what all the manufacturing stamps signify on this crucial part? I thought I have had a couple of technical bulletins by now at least.

I know we have done this a lot on this forum, but have a specific question re the read flex coupling.
I have the vibration, I'm pretty sure originating from the rear, process of elimination and all that. I have replaced the rear flex coupling a couple of times. Once with a genuine landrover part, and following this, with a GKN OEM part. The vibration left, but is now back, so I have pulled the GKN unit and popped the only semi worn LR unit back in, and ... no more vibration. So whats the difference. I notice on the two units, different stamps. There is a number 4 on the GKN, and an 8 in the same place on the LR. On the GKN is stamped AG, while the LR model has AA. Does any of this have any relevance, maybe rubber density, etc, or is it meaningless, and its all a coincidence.
cheers
Nick

a wild stab in the dark says they only relate to manufacturing dates. Unlikely that the product is different given that GKN is the manufacturer of the genuine LR original.
Had the same vibration (I think) and, replaced the donut. All good for about 6 months then it returns. The cure was replacing the rubber bush which centres the donut and flange assembly. I shouldn't be too cocky. I note a slight return of the buzz lately...

PS You don't want to know how to replace the rubber bush...
I've noticed the nut and bolts can work loose. And need to be checked with a couple of spanners. But you would have noticed this your self when changing the donut.
