Most of the forum members that have "chipped" their D2's have gone for an ECU re-map or in your case with an older D2, a chipped ECU with a re-map from Bruce Davis, Td5 Alive, TRS or a Tombie remap (a forum member).

The cost is similar and most are very happy with the results.

Plenty of info here on the forum to search for.

How does the DP Chip work?

I wouldn't have any "chip/ module" that intercepts or tricks the ECU into providing more fuel etc.
You may have a trouble free run as the TD5 has significantly different injector to the common rail "target" market.
Most plug and play modules intercept sensor information and fool the ECU into a response.
Take a look at how many of Toyo and Nissan guys have destroyed motors and injectors with these things.

A remap by a reputable tuner is the only way I would go.
There is no such thing as one adjustable module fits most engines.
