Any one bought the cheap fuel pumps off ebay(bout 100-$150), seem to be 1/4 the price of vdo ect just wondering any feedback from pple, I would like to carry a spare but just wondering if they are ok or pay for what you get

I was advised (by the salesperson!) that they are suitable if you are planning on getting the car going again so you can sell it!

Tank low..amber light.. .idling in traffic ...why does that shorten the life tombie ??![]()
After the third fuel pump in 6 months, my local mechanic asked one disco owner how she filled her car.
She never filled above 1/4 tank, always ran around on empty.
As mentioned above - the cooling effect of the fuel assists pump life.
The idling in traffic is a heat factor as the fuel going through the head is just recirculating in large volume and not being consumed.
Some slight cooling occurs when driving from air across tank, but not significant.
The main factor is the low levels...
the exact same reason it takes longer to boil a gallon of water as opposed to a pint of water.
