Thumbs up under seat CD Changer tip

I posted a while ago asking for advise when purchasing a disco. Well...i got one! original 2000 TD5. Full leather and the glitz.
i had a problem however with the 6 stacker CD changer not ejecting from the under seat unit.
I tried a few things and i read a tip posted elsewhere. I hit the stacker with the back end of a butter knife and the changer cassette simple came to life and popped out. sounds pretty stupid, but saved me some dosh as i was considering taking it to someone.

works best if you hold the eject button at the same time as giving it a motivation whack.

That is the first symptoms and eventually a long painful slow death for the CD player.

Its all in the cartridge as the CD holder plates begin to sag and the player continually thinks it's jammed.

Eventually you will not be able to get the CD cartridge out and your CD's will be locked in.

That is when you really give it a motivational whack

For repairs, Eurovox will not touch them.

Make sure you burn them in CDA format, not .mp3, .wav, or other. The things will only play original format disks.

I've got a CD changer sitting here (Melbourne) if anyone wants it. I pulled it out when I had the seat out. I just use mP3's now.
