You can also get the GG AT in 255 x 60 x 18 which would be legal on a D2.

From memory the 55's were for the Range Rover Sport & the 60's for a D3.

Another option is the Bridgestone AT 697 in 265 x 60 x 18 these are getting good review from D3 & 4 owners.

The 255/60 were $460ea in Perth

The larger 697 sizes are illegal for a D2a in WA. My mate is the technical manager for Bridgestone and we went thru it all to sort out suitable sizes, etc. and in the end his advice was to by from USA as they have the right sizes. We're too small a market in Aust for them to import all sizes and styles.

1. Import the 696 at all
2 have a single A/T tyre in a 255/55 R18 size.

I rang over 15 tyre shops in Perth and the cheapest A/T by any brand in that size was $425ea fitted.

Revo 2 isn't exactly aggressive

Once again, 697's aren't available in our size. And the Revos are fairly aggressive for an AT. It ain't a MT tyre.

I know...

Aware of this... And it's an average A/T pattern... Nice handling and not noisy and reasonably good in mud.

Biggest problem - if you wreck a couple off road getting a spare out there will be awkward!

Yeah I agree.

I wanted to get a set of 16" rims and tyres but couldn't get any in time before the trip so had to buy the 18". Lucky I have 6 in total.

Besides, in town the 18" look way hotter than 16"s

For those thinking of changing tyres and getting a little but more lift:

255/55R18 is 29" (stock) is an XL passenger type and can be sourced in Pirelli and other brands in Aus.

265/60R18 is LT construction and 30.52" and remain legal...
