Advice on setting up D2 for towing 25' c'van

Looks like a 2.5t 25' van will be attaching itself to our D2, hitting the road and as the saying goes "head west young man". The D2 is stock standard early 02 ES with 18inch wheels td5 auto. I will be fitting a ARB winch bar and replacing/upgrading the shockies.

Any advice is greatly appreciated especially with tow set up, chipping, cooling and of course any recommendations on someone good to do the job.

    Thanking all in advance

Make sure you put a trans cooler and trans temp guage in it before you go. I would refill the trans with synthetic fluid also. Get the cooling systen checked out, in particular the fan clutch.
    Just my 2c worth.
    cheers

Cheers Todd - I reckon that the missus (aka the minister for home affairs and treasury) is not going to like me too much with the cost of this little venture

x 2. Also recommend a "towing" remap from Jose at TD5Inside and an EGT gauge.
I think ES has SLS? If not get rear airbags.
Low Coolant Alarm is a must have for any D2. Madman and/or Nanocom can give you extra gauges some with settable warning buzzers.
You could also go for a HD torque converter and/or an oversize intercooler.
Billsteins seem to be the premier shockies.
Others will comment on the suitability of 18 vs 16 rims and tyres - depends how off road you might go. There are a number of options I'd consider before a winch eg Trutracs.
    Let the discussion proceed.
