Thread: Discovery 2 front diff axel spline - 10 or 24

Looking through the Britpart catalog on p. 70 ( Britpart Accessory Catalogue 2013 ) I noticed that it lists two Detroit TrueTracs to suit Land Rover Discovery 2 - the difference being that one is 10 spline and one is 24 spline.

Am I correct that the only way to find out which spline setup I have is to open up my current setup? I'm pretty sure that the previous owner of my vehicle has replaced one of the diffs already (not sure if front or rear).

If I am buying new axels as well, can I just pick one, either 10 or 24 and buy the centre and axels to suit and then it should all go in fine or are the housings different to suit?

All d2's are 24 spline.
