    Injector wiring harness replacement

Can the forum advise how much I would expect to pay for replacement of harness in my Td5. Also includes rocker cover gasket replacement.

There very easy to change. If you want to DIY it. There is nothing you can stuff up. The only hard bit is undoing the engine cover at the back of the head near the fire wall.

Do the whole thing yourself. You can save even more money if you seal the harness yourself, there is no mystery to it. You can also stop your old and probably hard rocker gasket from leaking..if it is..again if you want to save money.

I had thought about it. I had found these instructions at www.discovery2.co.uk / Workshop /Injector Harness, I would be interested in your comments.
    Any other tips?

Did mine last week. Dead easy. As previously mentioned its tricky manouvering the rocker cover back on, but took less than an hour all up.

wasn't expecting to do mine we were looking at something else when I asked about oil in the harness [ I hadn't checked it for 12 months] and blow me down there was plenty so he [ my mechanic] did it on the spot after seeing how easy it was I would of done it had I checked it earlier pretty easy job , even sealing up the new one with sealant so it hopefully dosn't happen again

Many thanks for your replies, I think I will take my time and have a go.
    Some more questions -
Harness and Gasket - genuine LR or OEM?
What is best method to remove oil from ECU plug/socket?
Should I also replace rubber washers on rocker cover bolts?
Can I use a little gasket cement to hold gasket in place?
The sealing of the harness - how is this done? Is there a procedure documented on this site?
