Just what you want when buying discs for a 4x4.Quote:
We must exclude warranty for track use and off road applications, although our custom slotting ensures more durability

I have a different approach with a 4x4 than a rd car. In a rd car I want something that will cool quickly before the next corner and have enough mass that the heat generated during the corner doesn't become excessive to cause fad.
I a 4x4 (while I understand the rotating and unsprung weigth debate) I want more mass that will absorbe big amounts of heat while I'm slowing down on a long hill. I think the biggest problem is you dont get the airflow for the cooling you get in a rd car.
Happy Days.
You would find all rotor suppliers exclude off road for warranty reasons ect A 4WD going down a steep hill using the brakes with a water crossing at the bottom  When your rotors no matter what brand and or slotted are cracked and or warped is that a manufacturing fault because some tool went through water with red hot brakes . Yes suppliers have to allow for the facts and fools :p
In saying this I spoke with Rapid this morning and high lighted the fact about the off road disclaimer and they informed me they deal with any claim case by case
My worst experience was having a pad jam and the rotor shatter in the RRC on the M4, for those who know, heading west at Silverwater just before the toll gates, turned rapidly left and hot through the wire fence and into the side street. Stopped and cleaned things up (clamped brake hose) and drove home. Also managed to bypass the toll gates too.
Or on the track, end of straight, long circuit at Oran Park and the foot goes to the floor. Things puckered so tight that day it took a week to relax enough to go.
Any idea who's cores DBA use for the DII ?
Their RRC/Disco I/Deefer rotors used to be Brembo cores refinished here.
That's what I have and they are excellent.
I think you will find DBA no longer is doing machining in Australia . Ive been told by a Rep that all their machines have been shipped out ! Of course it's cheaper to import from Asia as everyone does .
At the end of the day it all comes down to the mighty dollar and profit:angel:
My discs are 8-9 years old or so
200,000km or so, all country miles. Ferodo 4WD pads (made in Thailand, not made in Italy race pads :D)
