There is actually 2 sensors, 1 passenger side front and 1 drivers side load space, above the side window. They communicate with each other when the alarm is activated. The alarm ecu compares data from each and if they both correspond , off goes the noise!
And yes pretty sensitive , any air movement , such as from an open sunroof will trigger them. They are volumetric sensors, not movement sensors as such , they use air displacement means. If you tape the window cover so no wind enters should be oki.
Cheers Scott
Just an update on the window. I dropped into Obriens Glass this morning to make sure the right glass had been ordered. They said yes it will match your vehicle then they asked if it was brown or green tint. I thought, well you have already ordered it, shouldn't you have checked that first. So I said green and they said we do clear, brown and green but there was no comment on the darkness which I know will be different depending on car brand and type. I asked about the darkness and she responded with asking me did I want genuine which I obviously said yes. They told me they will organise it but I might have to wait a couple of weeks.
I'm sure it's better to wait than to get a none matching window.
Happy Days.
Don't waste any bad feelings on them either matey. That'll only hurt you. You can't run from the universal law of karma. You play with fire, you get burnt ten times over. Mightn't happen tomorrow but it will happen...
