    ACE pressure hose leaking

The ACE Td5 front hose from the pump to the clip under the radiator appears to be leaking spraying fluid over the steering box, ace fluid only needs topping up.
Can these hoses be repaired? I read working pressure up to 180bar/2600psi is beyond normal hydraulic fitting limits?
Anyone had success with pirtek/enzed etc repair?

To keep the D2 on the road can I fit a non ace idler pulley assembly so I can remove the pump and leaking hose to sort out repairs etc?

    Thanks

    Sure have.

I'll have to dig up the photos. I had the flexible bit of hose on the front ram burst completely. It was crimped straight onto the fixed ridgid pipe so I had to take the whole pipe out so fittings could be brazed on and a new peice of flex hydraulic hose made. Cost me about $120 (@Enzed) plus my labour getting it in and out. Oh and oil $$.

I think the Land Rover price for the peice was $400 Plus.

    Happy Days.

Further on the Hydraulic pipe. Without looking it up, it was rated at something like 8000psi. The standard LR stuff has a telfon tube core.

    Happy Days.

Hi Glenn, you can fit the non-ace idler bracket and pulley plus a non-ace belt drive belt.
