TD5 CD player nothing on screen
CD player is working but nothing is displayed on the screen...its just a green colour. I assume it wants the code? I have the code and the procedure is this copied from the manual,
OK directly from manual:
If power to the audio unit has been interrupted (Vehicle battery disconnected, for example), the code must be re-entered before the set will operate. Enter the code as follows:
1. Switch on the set 'CODE -- -- -- --' appears in the display
2. Press pre-set button 1 repeatedly until the correct digit of the code is shown.
3. Press the second pre-set button repeatedly to select the second digit of the code
4. Press pre-set 3 until the third digit of the code is shown in the display.
5. Press the fourth pre-set button to select the final digit of the code.
6. With the full code displayed, press the right hand Search control (arrowed in illustration) to enter the code. (I think this is where your going wrong)
After 12 attempts the radio will be locked beyond repair.
Anybody have any ideas?

If it wants the code it will display ----- . A blank screen generally means a fault in the LCD display . This often occurs if the display has received a bump. Sometimes they just refuse to work, often, as you found, without any detrimental effect on the unit playing.
May be time for a new 1!

Yes I was beginning to think the screen was possibly faulty. Does anyone know if it's possible to get it repaired or is there a player that will fit and retain the steering wheel controls ?

Yes it is possible to connect after market heads to steering wheel controls . There is threads on here about it . Do a search, but use the bottom of page search function, works much better than the top 1
It may be possible to fix the old 1 but hey! a new 1 is so much better with usb
Cheers Scott
