I have the standard height Koni Heavy Tracks on order.
I will 2nd that opinion about Kings sagging with a load. Mine is fitted with standard height and any load down they go, Ride is very nice though :) The fronts are standard too and with the bar on the stops are getting used!
A pic of how they sag, although that is a fair load of 2A wagon and I had a gearbox in the back.
Am thinking of fitting Air helpers or maybe ditch the coils and fit airbags;)
Coilrites give the best of both worlds. Some people say there is lost articulation and I suppose there might be a very small amount but I haven't noticed it.
Cheers
Don't know anything about the Kings, but have had Dobinsons +20 on the front with std dampers for the last 190k km, a lot of that outback touring. (and I stay off the bitumen where possible):)
Went up to 510mm hub to guard when I fitted them, still 500mm now. (no bullbar, TD5)
The Dobinsons are the same free length as LR springs but with wire diameter about 1mm bigger, so even with ~standard ride height the bump stops are rarely hit. Haven't noticed any increased harshness in the ride.
SLS set at +20 on the back, has worked out to be the ideal setup for me.
Cheers,
Terry
Just had Billies and Dobinson +20mm fitted front and rear. What a ride! Its magic carpet stuff compared to old stock springs and and Dobinson (hard) shocks. I dont understand people saying Bilstein are too hard...are they fitting the wrong ones?
Handling is excellent and it rides better than my brother in laws P38A Rangie with (well serviced) air suspension.
The only thing is vague steering which feels disconcerting. I wonder if i need castor correction bushes on the trailing arms, although I would have thought this is overkill. Might have more to do with the lift enhancing the wear in ball joints and steering arm than anything.
Thoroughly recommend it. It came up well in height to...more than +20 (!) but should settle a little.
Cheers
Sounds like a good outcome!
What is the measurement you get from centre of hub to the guard on the front?
The stock range is from 468mm to 498mm with the vehicle at unladen weight.
Unless you are going substantially over 498mm that I doubt you'd need caster correction.

Thanks mate. 520.

hi offtrack - did you get the koni from paddocks? i tried some months ago and they told me same thing as when i tried a couple of years ago - won't send gas shocks via air. both times ended up getting de carbon from rimmers. just curious if something has changed with their policy.
thanks,
brett.
Yes, I got them from Paddocks. Apparently they can't send "high pressure gas" shocks. So it depends on what you order. The SPX heavy tracks are apparently OK but heavy track raids aren't. It seems all a bit random.
The biggest issue I had was actually getting the quote for the shipping once I'd ordered, and then they "forgot" to check for the paypal payment until I contacted them 5 days later.
cheers
