    D2 Front Upper Ball Joint

    Hello All,

I am replacing my D2 MY 2004 Front Axle Ball Joints. This is the first time the job is being done in my truck. Lower ball Joint was off using the special tool but the upper joint came off without any efforts.
Bought new original LR ball joints.

The odd thing here is when replacing the upper joint it goes almost effortless inside the bore in the axle joke!!! Lower ball joint needs a lot of more work to pop in.

Is it normal for the upper ball joint to go in by hand? Any ideas?

    thank you a lot.

Computer says no. There are some horror stories on here about how hard the whole process is so your situation sounds unique.

Do a search for ball joints

I have also been looking at having a go but was going to fabricate the jig to do it. Attached are some dimensions of the ball joint (measured with a vernier). Might help.
