    Size of Nuts

I misplaced my nuts that connect to the air intake booker rod sleeve, that is attached to the guard. 99 TD5 Disco..

Can't seem to find the size after buying 3 different packets.

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks...

air intake booker rod sleeve ???
Do you mean the hose connecting guard inlet to air box /Filter housing?
If so the plastic nuts are coarse thread akin to what you see on some captive nuts/ spire screws. Have no idea what they are really.

    Air intake nuts?

    Hi there
Hope this is of use I had the plastic nuts that hold the air intake pipe from inner wing to airbox missing on my D2 when I bought it I used these to reattach pipe to the rough thread bolts sticking out of inner wing.

    Air intake to inner wing
    NUT PLASTIC M5 PUSH ON
    P/N RNN876
    Unthreaded Plastic Nuts
    Pack of 10 hole 4mm 16mm flange
    BMW P/N: 16131176747

The BMW ones where cheap on eBay you need to push hard on the nuts as you tighten them to help them cut the thread.

    Sorry schuy1/ Scott,
Mate I left a few words out in haste. Yeah I meant the air intake on the guard that I guess you'd call it a piece of coarse threaded booker rod with a sleeve on the end, or a threaded stud, or a bolt thread without the head :-) . They were steel but plastic will do..

Thanks ScotsD2/Pete, great idea matey! That will solve my problem..

    Cheers again,
    Mik

Yours were metal? Mine, 02 td5,are plastic. Sound very similar to what Pete is using.

Fairly certain they were metal Scott, but am now second guessing.

I'll let you know when they finally turn up somewhere in the shed in a few years time ;-)

Actually, the nuts were on but the filter pipe connecting the hose was off when I first bought the car. The fellow I bought it from, said that the air cleaner was better off with the hose left inside the engine bay. Thats what got me thinking about the guard flutes I installed, and any other better options for cleaner air without fitting a snorkel in the first place.

    Cheers,

    Mik
