    Climate Control

    OK, dumb question time.
When I turn off CC the console turns blank.
Should I still be getting warm air through windscreen and floor vents?

If you set the temp on both sides to minimum before you switch off it will stop the warm air.

    Cheers

    Just leave it on...

Doesn't make a noticeable difference to fuel economy.

However, if you want to keep the functions on screen, set to LO (or whatever's comfortable) and hit ECON - it turns the A/C compressor off...

I'm not sure why this trick works, but seems to be effective. It's mentioned in a video owners manual produced by Land Rover North America.

It would seem that turning off the A/C leaves the some part of the warm side of blend system open. Turning the temperature down to minimum forces it shut.

Anyway I find it pretty handy trick, as there are times when the ambient temperature means A/C isn't necessary but the hot air flow from the A/C vents means you tend to keep it on.

    cheers

    Many thanks.
The main reason why I turn it off is that I normally set on 22 C. Even on a cold day if the sun starts to heat up the cabin a little, cool air starts to blow out, presumably to maintain desired temp. So it's easier to push the OFF button than to fiddle..............if that makes sense(?)

if you press the recirc button before turning off it stops air coming out the vents.

if the cc was set to warm, and you turn it off, it stops and fan and the heater.
the vents are still open and heat from the engine comes through the vents.

The CC is a never ending source of new tricks.

14 years on, never new that the glass heaters come on when you press that screen button, then again, never use/used them anyway

    Cheers Jerry
