Someone posted this on Landy Zone - http://goo.gl/br9fS

They claim that it can generate the Barcode from the chip number.

I've got a 2nd-hand suspension remote, with just the 6 digit chip number, and a Hawkeye, but haven't tried it yet.

It's post #10 on this Landy Zone thread - Can anyone provide a HOWTO on associating new key with HawkEye - Land Rover Zone

One of the members of the D2BC forum has successfully used the spreadsheet to generate the Barcode from the chip code and programmed it to his DII, using a Hawkeye -

Have a look on the Members with diagnostics tools map.

    https://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms?m...728978,1.28952

The markers are the locations of people with Nanocom's unlocked for the D2 who have said they are willing to offer other members assistance.

You need to PM the member to get in touch.

    cheers

I went to a Land Rover mechanic in Brisbane (not a dealer) who had a T4.

Only went to the mechanic because the nanocomm didn't work (not mine but a colleague's on the forum). $60 later the fob was programmed. Took all of 5 mins. (pretty sure the serial number on the sticker inside the fob matchs the last 6 numbers on the serial code. I will check tonight).

    Regards
    Andrew

(Not sure why the nanocomm didn't work but it does, most times)

The dealer can get the full code form the 6 digit code by telephoning the mother-ship in England or the main office in your country. If they couldn't do that, every time they replace a BCU they'd have to sell you all new keys. It's even in the TSB for replacing the BCU for going to sleep problems. http://www.landroverclubvi.com/uploa...8601nasf_2.pdf step 1 on page 2.

Some of the dealer mechanics here in the US had an excel spreadsheet they could generate the codes with, like the link posted a few back with the google docs spreadsheet that will generate the code for you.

I've programmed a key using the code that a dealer tech gave me, based on my 6 digit code.

Attached is a photo of a genuine key with the barcode and inside number revealed. You can join the dots.

Don't think the dealers ever uses the entire number (barcode) but not sure.

    Andrew

PS the image is a bit dodgy but the numbers on the sticker exist in the barcode.

6 digit code from 15 digit?

    Hello all,

I seem to have the opposite problem than most here in this thread. I purchased some new FOBs which arrived only with the 15-digit codes /barcodes, and no 6 digit code sticker on the PCB. I have a Nanocom which takes the 6-digit codes for FOB programming.
Does anyone know how to translate the 15 digits into 6 digits?

    Thank you
    Sutherland

D2 Key with 6 digit FOB and no barcode, help!!

I believe 6 consecutive digits of the 15 digit code make up the code you are after, but I can’t remember where they occur. There is an old thread here somewhere describing this.

Sorry I just realised the pic in the thread before yours gives away the answer.

Yes, characters 2,3,4,5,6,7 from the first bar code are the 6 in the fob
