Exclamation D2 Key with 6 digit FOB and no barcode, help!!

    Hi All,

I have justbought a Spare Key for my D2 and found that it came with only a 6 digit codeand no barcode (didnt know at the time of purchase it was needed). Land Rover dealer couldn’t code it to my car saying they neededthe barcode to program it in. Also I can't return the key because I have already had the blade cut and it looks like the seller is refusing either way. Can anyonehelp me program the key in? From my understanding maybe someone with ‘testbook’or a ‘nanocom’ can help, not too sure though. Oh I’m in Ryde area, Sydney BTW &happy to drive around if someone is willing to help.

    Thanks all.

Responded to your PM (that's message not Rudd).

The 6 digit code will be fine, don't even need that.

I'm happy to help with Testbook T4 but I'd need instructions. I've done one once before but I had all the info - and it was some time ago.

Can anyone tell me how to do it or is it self-explanatory once I fire up T4?

I can also ask my local LR independents for advice.

Yeah, I have a bit of cleaning out to do since I resigned as a Mod. I have over 2000 PMs to get rid of.

You have 2,116 messages stored, of a total 100 allowed.

Hi Ron, I had a quick look but wasn't able to find much onhow to program a key using Testbook T4 (might just be a reflection of my google search skills, or lack of), if you want to give it a try we can usea learn as you go method otherwise I can wait until Justin gets his car back ashe has also generously offered to help out.

You'll be in the same situation as the LR dealer if you use the Testbook system as it requires the full barcode. Nanocom allows you to program using the 6 character code.

Mine was programmed with T4 and the numbers inside the fob. (Just sounds like a typical response from a dealer....A deer with no eyes).

    Hi Andrew,
Would you be able to shed some light on how you would go about doing this with a T4? It seems that most would agree it can be done with a nanocom (found this from a previous post).
