    Finally. D2 Key/fob nirvana?

Found these on eBay this morning.

Uses your original fob's circuit board, has blank key to cut to match your existing one. Only downside is that the case needs to be glued together so
changing a battery may damage the case. The buttons may be a bit more durable as well.

    All for less than $20-.

Nice find. I don't know why but I do really like the flip key.

How many keys can I program for my D2? Only 2 or can I program a third?

Can probably even put one of the D3 silicone covers over it too:

    EDIT:

It would seem that there is a few different styles:

I've got a bookmarked thread on the D2 Boys Club forum about doing the same thing using a Peugeot flip fob.

You need to sign up to view it, but it's well worth it IMHO. Some fantastic info and some really interesting ideas and projects.

There's slots for a max of 4 keys, and these can be over written.

I also found complete original kets with blank blades and 433mhz (Aust spec) boards for about $133-.

On the one hand there's quite a bit of work for the D2BC ones to make them but then they don't need to be glued together.

Just took my flip key to the locksmith and he thinks the key is not quite right. But just going to goto bunnings and see if they will cut it.

I agree. But he wouldn't even have a go. He said its to short. But by my eye it looks fine. There is another locksmith in town. But I cant be bothered going in there.

I've also found locksmiths who are assclowns, usually if you stick around they'll come up with a "fix" that involves a donation of a few hundred dollars.
