    Clunk noise when turning

    Hi,

I have notice in the last few days I hear clunk when turning and more noticeable in the morning on the way to work. When going back from work not as much or not as noticeable.

I just changed theauto transmission oil cooler pipe last week. I am not sure whether it is related or not.

Anyone has the same experience like this before? Thanks.

If it is clunk "singular" then possibly a worn suspension/steering bush. Clunks "many"and verging on chattering then perhaps a cv joint.

    Cheers

Check the steering unis, watts linkage bushes, suspension bushes, etc.
    I'm chasing a clunk atm but I think that's a chassis spacer.

Difficult and when I had a similar clunk on the Rangie I left it to the mechanic. Basically you may have to unload the front suspension and see it there is any movement. Given the weight that may be difficult and also may not be immediately evident. Another trick sometimes used it to over torque the bolts through the suspension bushes which may compress the bush enough to stop the movement. Usually that only buys time and the clunk will reappear.

IMO it's unlikely to be steering unis/CVs as they will chatter. Single clunk sounds like suspension settling due to a worn bush.

    Cheers
