    Surging Cruise Control D2a V8

Okay, I've hear this maybe normal but can you guys confirm. When I set My cruise control to a target speed, say 100km/h it gently surges 1-2 km above and then coasts 1-2 km below the set target speed and then repeats the cycle. I've checked the vacuum lines and all seem to be in good condition. The throttle cable has a little slack but is at almost full adjustment.
If what I'm experiencing is normal that's okay. If not what, where and how to get it fixed. Any feedback is appreciated.

    Cheers

    Craig

Try adjusting the cable a little further.

Is your MAF sensor in good nic. I found that the cruise control gets erratic when the MAF is dirty or dying.

Good idea. I'll grab a can of that MAF cleaner and check it on the weekend. The cable is pretty well at full adjustment so I can't get much more slack out.

From what I've read on the Internet, there not the most refined cruise control at best. I'm just wondering if it's a normal characteristic or have other owners got them spot on.

Possibly a minor vacuum leak due to a split in one of the hoses, diaphragm failing, or vacuum pump on the way out.
My cruise control, D2 V8, has no drama in maintaining a constant speed without surging.

Are you sure you have followed the cruise control adjustment as per RAVE. I had no problem with mine after that.

Go a little further with the cable. Cheaper than cleaning your MAF, starting the car and frying it.

I'll try that first. See how it goes.
