I paid $290 for an NNN off EBay. Make sure you get the correct one for your vehicle/transmission.
I can't remember the exact part numbers. No doubt Off Track will more than likely know or do a search. It will have been covered before.

Over time I have had remaps done by pretty well all of the main players in the industry in the UK.
They can all be difficult to contact and non responsive to emails pretty well without exception.
Jose I found to be very good and particularly skilled in his field.
I found that I needed to be quite specific in my description of issues remembering that English is not Jose's native language.
I wouldn't hesitate to get Jose to do a map for me he is thorough, persistent and polite.
He also does very good tailor made maps
I'm also looking at a td5Inside remap for towing. Have emailed them once and got a quick & helpful reply. What are roughly the follow on costs. I'm assuming its necessary to modify the manifold and put in M10 studs to cope with the higher egts. Pulling off the manifold and grinding out the webbing & bigger studs are a bit beyond my home garage level skills.
Cheers
Spend your money first up on an egt gauge, then drive on that. If you keep your temps down, you won't need any mods.
Alternatives to the bigger studs if you go any further is to enlarge (slightly) the outer stud holes on the manifold (I didn't bother, but did fit all new standard studs). Dewebbing is easy with a 4" angle grinder. Don't know if it helps, but some have ceramic painted the manifold after mods.
Not sure the M10 studs are 100% necessary. I had the manifold refaced when it warped and have since fitted JE Engineering studs which are pretty popular on the UK forums as a solution to warping. They apparently allow the stud to stretch a little without snapping.

The studs are standard size so you don't need to tap the head.
Re: ECU's - NNN000130 and NNN500030 for an Auto, NNN000120 and NNN500020 for a Manual. NNN000250 will also work for a manual.
cheers

That's one thing that was holding me back from getting a Remap, but I've started talking to Jose about remaps and it won't be long before I accept defeat and get one.
I had thought that upping the intercooler, etc was necessary but I think as I'm going for a fairly conservative remap I'll just go for an EGT/Boost gauge and keep my eye on it.
I'd hate to see my EGTs while overtaking atm
They should be fine. The stock maps are written to target a safe afr, so won't run excessive egt's with normal driving. You might have trouble if you are towing a heavy caravan uphill while overtaking...
Winding the boost up seems to help bring down EGT's, mind you my EGT probe is sitting in a box under the desk as I type ;)
I hardly ever tow, it's more running it in third locked perhaps a tad aggressively while overtaking up a steel hill
But yes.
Gauges will be complementing my remap :burnrubber:
Hi All
I have a Defender with a TD5 Inside Re-Map. Drives like a different car. Heaps more power right across the rev range. I have mine for towing a camper. It isnt quite right - but Jose is waiting for me to send through some data off the Nanocom....so not his fault at all!!
Do it. You'll never go back.
(PS - l too weas concerned about damaging things - but Jose assures me things are still 'well within' safe limits).
Mike
I bought a secondhand chipped TRS msb type ECU. Re-coded the injectors and could not be happier.
More power allround and better fuel mileage
:)
