I could not stand those amigoes no more, sensor replaced

To day the sun was shining so decided to go and replace the left hand front wheel sensor as that was the only thing coming up as a fault for a while now. It appeared shortly after I replaced the shuttle valves.

I haven't routed the long cable all the way to within the dash, and looking at the loom where the existing cable gets coated in insulation tape it looks like a long tedious job. Am I correct?
At the moment I have left the miles of cable rolled up and only connected it to the female plug just below the ABD Modulator. I reset the Slabs and amigos are gone.
What have others done with the long cable, did you strip the insulation from the existing loom or just run the wiring along the out side of it.
    regards, Mario

Mine had the long cables fitted b4 I got the D2, done at Pacific L/Rover and all they have done is run it along the outside with tapeing and sections along. For the sake of neatness I would do as much retaping it into the loom as possible but of course that is a big job and apart from the neat factor probably not needed. Just depends on what you prefer.

LR have a very handy technical bulletin covering installation the long cables. The recommended routing doesn't follow the existing loom through the firewall and uses a grommet hidden behind the sound deadening.

They suggest using cable ties where necessary, but taping at intervals would work too.

Well the Amigoes where gone for 1 day!. as said earlier I only connected the end of the new long sensor wires to the exiting plug before I go and go the full wire threading.
Plugged in Nanocom and when it comes to read faults in slabs , nanocom says it can't connect to the ECU. GRRRRR.
I'll try Hawkeye tomorrow and see if it will connect. I seem to have a few issues with nanocom occassionaly throwing a wobbly fit, in between menus but a restart normally fixes the connection fault.

Mario, it seems that the connection plug is often more the problem than the actual sensor! That is 1 reason for the introduction of the full length wiring, bypassing any intermittent connect problems. so your plugging into it with a new sensor may actually be continuing the problem.
Dont panic until you do the correct procedure for the wiring.

The Nanocom can be little bit finicky sometimes, but it will generally connect if you tickle it's tummy right. Try connecting with the ignition off or one position from off. I occasionally get failure to connect with both the Nanocom and X431 iDiag and it normally just requires a power cycle on the vehicle and diagnostic gear to establish a connection.

    cheers

Paul , I gave up on the Nanocom and cleared it with my Hawkeye, it showed shuttle valve fault. Previously it was the front left hand wheel sensor broken/ loss of signal.
I replaced the shuttle valves not so long ago, and also had the mod done to the wiring.
Had a 4th amigo come up as a symbol of car with arrows curved on each side. ACE, code read as high temp, reset it and all ok.
I'll get around to doing the correct long wire fit as per your very helpful bullitan you posted.
The 3 amigos have come back yet after I reset them yet.
    Thanks Mario
