Thanks All, I have to go down to Melbourne today and there are a couple of bearing shops down on the old Hume section at Campbellfield. I'll see if I can get some there.

The standard width worm drive clamps don't fit the end of the cooler body. The clamping space is too narrow and you end up with about a quarter of the clamp overhanging the end of body. If you try to get all the clamp over the body it fouls on the locating tabs of the end cap which protrude slightly from slots in the body.
If you don't care about ill fitting clamps that is entirely your prerogative, but it's a straight up bodge to my eye.
And don't get me started on the hose clamps...
The hose clamp required are Tridon part # M316-028 which are a stainless clamp. This makes the next time you have to change easier.
They are but a clic away...

The caps cooler will take two o-rings, so it's worth installing the additional o-ring at each end. The existing o-rings often fail shortly after doing work which involves shifting the hoses. The two spaced rings should help support the cap and reduce the possibility of it pivoting in the body when the hoses are moved. If you do it properly first time you shouldn't need to revisit for 10 years.
What you did there.
I see it.
:D
Yep, I've been poking around there lately and it's definitely gotten worse.
I went in to a local, recommended engineering shop and asked for 2 Viton rubber BS225 O-rings, came out with a packet.
Handed over something like $4 and came home, opened the packet, and they're flat rubber washers! :o
So now I know what I'm actually buying, not going to that store again :D
i got my seals from cbc in blacktown, about $8ea.
check with mario at rovercraft, has a kit two seals and two clamps (thinner style) for at $30 on ebay. :)
OK o-rings ordered at statewide bearings, I go past again on Friday so a weekend job for me!
Thanks for the input everyone, I think I'll just use some regular hose clamps for the moment and let them hang over the edge. Chase up some pliers when I can.

Used these when I fitted new O rings

That is $41.50 (inc postage) for a 2 o-rings and a couple of worm drive clamps.
You can spend $11 (plus postage) on a pair of BS225 viton o-rings from somewhere like rover parts plus.
Land Rover Parts - FUEL COOLER REPAIR 'O' RING (PAIR) - TD5 (cylindrical fuel cooler)
The $20-30 you save will buy a pair of the clic-r pliers - which can also be used on the radiator bleed pipe clips, PAS reservoir hose clips (on ACE equipped d2 at least), head-light washer hoses clips, and a few other places that escape my mind at the moment.
cheers
