Aux Audio Adapter?
Hi,
Sorry of this has been asked a load of times, but do guys know where to purchase an aux adapter for my 1999 Discover 2? All the ones on eBay in the UK seem to say 2000-2003.
I did this mod for my last car which was an Audi A3 and soldered the aux audio cable to a 3.5mm jack socket which I installed in one of the free buttons on the dash. It looked neat and was great with a Brodit Ipod holder. Looking to do the same with the Discovery rather than buy a new unit, but can't find the right adapter.
Thanks,
Antony.

Yeah, I used to have one of those years ago but the sound quality doesn't really compare.

Hi Guys,
I believe I found the adapter that fits my stereo anyway which is a Eurovox 5780R - on my 1999 Discovery V8.

I have just installed a Grom IPD3 with BT into my 2000 ES Disco and it is a superb addition.
USB and Android Car Kits | iPod, iPhone, AUX Car Adapters | Bluetooth Hands Free Car Adapters | Bluetooth Car Kits
It plugs into the Data port on the back of the Alpine unit (Hardon Karmon set-up) and takes the place of the 6 stack CD.
I can change songs and playlists from the steering wheel as well as answer incoming calls on the crystal clear Bluetooth hands free.
Granted it is a little more expensive than modifying the existing Head Unit but in terms of sound, ease of installation etc not to mention support from Grom, it is pretty impressive.
I had an existing unit from my previous car, purchased the new vehicle specific cable, re-flashed the latest firmware and it was done...
The hardest part was finding a spot for the Grom box in the dash... it ended up behind the Climate controls, under the head unit.
I am now waiting on http://www.holdmyphone.com.au/select...4_04#dashmount to arrive as I already have the holder for my iPhone 5.

Fair play on that. I did consider those, but prefer to control songs straight from my ipod so the 3.5mm input would work best. I'm also waiting on holdmyphone - I recon they just take orders and then wait on the U.S. rather than stock anything.
On another note, does anyone know the best place to get the two keys to remove the stereo?
Thanks,
Antony.

All you need is file hanger... the ones that go in your filing cabinet.. Use the ones that dont have the plastic insert in them..
Cut 1 side in half... insert till you hear the click and then using your fingers in the tape section pull hard... the rubber locator in the back holds it tight.
As for the Grom... you can still control everything from the iPod or iPhone... it is just that it is illegal for the driver to do so while on the move.
Bluetooth phone connection was important to me.. and it is now built into my system...and my phone gets charged at the same time... plus I can play music and have my GPS running all with no fuss.

Hi Andy,
Thanks. My stereo has the two tiny holes on either side though.
