Do you still have the bags lines connected together with a T? It is my understanding( I do not have SLS :() that the bags are connected separately, to allow side to side adjustment. If you have them connected it could be confusing the ECU, and remember, this is a computer! It gets upset at minor probs! :o The blow off valve noise you hear is probly the deflation valve releasing at the valve pack.

bags
I do have them connected at the moment so I can drive the thing but I had them hooked into the servos at the time I was trying to get it working yesterday.
Today I was 2 pack spraying a yacht for a client so I had to use the green beast to get up to the hanger where I have the boat stored. Should finish that tomorrow some time so I can have another go at the disco after that. I think the two bag lines running to the two servos will separate the bags when I re hook them up

Make sure you have your door closed. The thing will not lift with the door open.
-
If you disconnect the height sensors or any of the solenoid valves, the ecu will detect it and refuse to power the compressor.
Also as said above close all the doors or nothing will happen:)

air bags.
Well well well, what a bunch of legends you lot are.
It is now working thanks to all your help.
The first and most important thing was to shut the doors. I have a sliding draw with a tool box in the rear and of course when I pulled it out to use the tools I left the door open. Strike one!
The second major thing was to fire up my Nanocom, Sure enough it was showing as a petrol V8 (it's a td5) is was also showing as a manual when it is auto and it was showing as coil sprung.
Changed all that and up she went, GREAT!
Only thing was that the near side was higher than the driver's side. After a bit of thought I dropped the air out and swapped the two air bag pipes over and she is now sitting really nicely (level). Maybe just a tad lower than I am used to manually pumping her up to; but that is just a matter of getting used to it.
If this settles down at a set height I can now set my headlight to the proper setting.
ONCE AGAIN. THANK YOU ALL VERY VERY MUCH. THIS FORUM IS FULL OF FANTASTIC KNOWLEDGE, WHICH IS SO FREELY GIVEN.

YeeHa! :D It is just good that we can be of service :) Mind you doing faults over the internet is a bit like russian roulette! But have enough of us passing it around we get there eventually!

On mine one of the air lines is colour coded blue to match one blue solenoid valve. You can still plug the wiring connectors into the wrong valve though.
Good that it is sorted.

One last question.
Is it normal for my SLS compressor to blow off air every so often and to run briefly at start up ?
-
Sounds normal
Hi there
It sounds normal to me it will blow off some pressure
as you get out to keep same height.
It will run once you get in to get back to std height if you
add more weight it will increase pressure to maintain height.
when you stop it will take a few seconds to settle and
blow off or pump to get correct height.
It's a common practice to fit a SLS running light to monitor
the pump running if you get more than normal running times
you will be able to check for leaks before you pump burns out.
