Below are the claims made for the Power Box 2, they sound quite impressive, can anyone with knowledge of Chip upgrades or something similar to this give some comment?

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade is a high quality, digital management upgrade, incorporating a modern RISC microprocessor. The “chip” is carefully programmed - using the manufacturers standard fuel map as a foundation - and modifies the opening times of the injectors, which then accurately meters the extra fuel required. Unlike many analogue devices, which crudely over-fuel throughout the entire rev-range, each Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade is specifically mapped for the intended application. Extra fuel is provided when needed - eliminating flat-spots and hesitation - but there is no unnecessary enrichment, meaning no loss of fuel economy and no black smoke. In fact, most Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade users report a noticeable improvement in fuel economy, as they discover it’s no longer necessary to work their vehicle so hard.

WHERE IS IT FITTED?
On most vehicles, the Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade fits under the bonnet, interrupting the wiring loom from the engine ECU. All Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrades are fitted with the original vehicle connectors, so installation is simply a case of unplugging the relevant connector and plugging in the Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade. Full instructions are supplied and no special tools or skills are required. Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrades are small, neat and discrete. They are fully encapsulated in resin and are shock resistant. Care, of course, should be taken to locate the Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade away from the effects of water.

HOW MUCH POWER WILL I GAIN?

WHY NOT JUST HAVE MY ECU RE-CHIPPED?
Unlike an ECU chip, a Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade can be fitted and removed easily. Also, as the Power Box 2 - Diesel Power Upgrade doesn't disturb the ECU, its presence cannot be detected by diagnostic equipment. After the cost of purchase and shipping you could probably get your ecu upgraded locally. People on this site do it regularly from what I understand, amongst many other land rover suppliers / repairers.

This would include back up service/warranty here in aust and keep your money here also.
I am all for buying from overseas if its way cheaper but if comparable always buy here.

Ecu remaps/upgrades can also be tailored to your driving styles which many of the power style boxes are not.

Check some reviews on the plug in style before you buy.

I think Tombie is one of the land rover specialists on here doing the ecu upgrades.
