    Rear Wiper Arm Alignment

    Hi All,

I have the problem that the plastic rear wiper has twisted a bit and even with a new blade rubber the side of the blade mounting rubs on the windscreen.

I have heated the arm with a heat gun and tried to convince it to realign but not hopeful. It's cooling as I type..

Just checked it. Well it might have worked????

Did you only replace the rubber blade.
Wiper blade and plastic frame are not very dear, it clips on the old arm.

    Hi Mario,

I only replaced the rubber. I assumed all three were the same so I bought a narrow x3 kit. I did find the rear one was a wide.

Bummer so I just reused the metal strips and put the new rubber in.

Now the rubber and plastic frame are good to go but the arm was bent. I think time and sun allowed it to twist over time. The upper lugs on the plastic frame touched the rear window on the up stroke.

    After heating and twisting.

After heating the arm and twisting with a shifter it looks like the plastic frame will not touch the rear window. Well here's hoping..

Edit: I have read people swap for the D1 metal arm, not washer mount though..

I had a similar problem and didn't have much success heating the arm up to bend it. As a matter of fact I think I made it worse...
I think over time they get out of shape, so I ordered a new genuine arm and fitted it, problem solved!
    Cheers

Well it stopped wiping the top of the window due to being out of shape so I bought a new one.

It's a really easy job to change. Worse part was pulling the spare wheel off.

The thing that worried me was the washer pipe, but i found if you pull the grommet out of the back door it is attached to the one way valve that comes out with the grommet and hose. A quick swap and push it back in the door.

    Nice clean rear window again..

Well the cheap one's off ebay are not very good. The plastic is softer and it has already bent worse than the original.

I contacted the seller and she is sending a new one.

Might have to convert to a D1 steel rear wiper arm..
