D2 V8, CV boot replacement
Hi all,
I just bought a 2004 V8 - it's done 117,000kms. I've noticed one of the outer CV boots is split and would like to replace both. As far as I can tell, the joints are not noisy and there doesn't seem to be any play in these or the wheel bearings.
I've never done it before so have a few questions.
I found a nice text based tutorial that I'm planning on using as directions...
Disco 2 – Replacing the CV Gaiter. - Land Rover Zone Anyone come across some instructions with pic's?
Also, are the original boots any better or worse than the aftermarket ones, and is a special crimping tool required for the bands that come with the original part? And, is there any benefit to getting the one that slides on with a plastic cone?
thanks.
