I've just successfully modified and rewrote my TD5 map, and I'm chuffed.
I used the td5 map suite to do this.
I suppose I should install a egt sender installed now so I can play with some more tunes.
I can see the nancom getting a work out next year.
Yep the dollars will go to more pressing issues like maintenance.
NOW you have my attention!!!! It seems to make me smile beyond the norm this new prospect of self installing the ECU map AND the fact that these maps are OPENSOURCE unlike some mobs that sell duplicated maps for big $$.
Anyway...rant over.
How did you go with the nanocom. Did you already own one or buy it for this mod. I have an '04 d2 td5 and the only thing between me and my power upgrade is a nanocom?!
As we speak my Disco is having the cat and center box removed.

I bought the nanocom years ago before BBS took over from Matia. I updated the firmware to the latest from BBS. (they've done a great job)
I've only used the evo for bleeding brakes, resetting amigos, and changing Options like auto door locking etc so far and I keep plugged in on instrument mode as well.
That's roughly about it.
Although some knowledge of diesel tuning, a vehicle fitted EGT and wideband O2 sensors plus data logging, lots of time on a dyno, and some basic information about the function of the maps, how they interact and the math required to calculate key parameters would probably help you get something comparable to a commercial remap.
Apart from the above, you'll be set.
cheers
Paul
