    brake issue on td5

Well my oil leaks have been resolved but the super hard pedal is getting me down, its ok but use the brake especially down hill a couple of times and the pedal goes rock hard with it seems no power assist, if it was the booster would it not do it all the time, if it was the abs unit sticky shuttle valve etc would it not log a fault, my nanocom had no faults logged, I can bring the issue anytime I wish just push the pedal a few times and pedal goes hard, take my foot off the pedal let it be for a few secs and is back to normal, could it be a faulty pump on the alt or did I leave a vacuum line off when I took out the egr and blanked it off( nanocom did log that) is there anything I should check that ive missed, you can literally push the pedal as hard as you can with little stopping power, any ideas, ive posted this before but still cant resolve

    cheers

definitely check for vac leaks, the egr valve solenoids vacuum supply line is teed into the feed to the booster...

Thanks JC, is there a diagram in the rave showing where each line goes from the solenoid, maybe I pulled off and blanked it out when removing the egr, so does that mean there is 2 vacuum lines 1 from alt as per rave and 1 from solenoid, I wish I could remember if it started after blanking egr off,

    cheers

Ken, I would just remove the main vac feed from the t piece next to the fuel cooler in the vacuum line to the booster and plug it/ cap it. No vacuum at all to the solenoids etc then.

If you have been using a lot of brake fluid and don't know where its gone, you may find the booster half full of fluid.
