This was the problem i had, the message went through to solenoid 3 but lockup was intermittent, sometimes worked & sometimes not.Quote:
On the way back, however, and solenoid 3 went to ON when correct speed was met but lockup didn't occur.
I paid to have the solenoid itself replaced, but made no difference, wasted more money.
Forked out more money to another transmission mob who claimed they could tell me the exact problem, all they did was hook it up to their own diagnostic to tell me what I already knew, lockup intermittent.
They only got half of what he wanted to charge me & that was still to much.
The next problem I faced was the Cause, Told it could be the TC itself, could be the pump seal, auto on the way out, not holding pressure.
It was doing my head in, who can i trust with this problem without ripping me off, a full reco costing thousands.....
In the end through a few ph calls & talking to face to face, i grew confidant with the fella who done the repair, At 270,000 kms I was sure the auto had been out as it was nice & clean along with the transfer case, but the previous owner had no background info, he hadn't had it long & his missus hated it so he had to sell.
Anyhow the auto come out & checked, yes it had been reco'ed at a reputable ZF trans plce in Melbourne & all looked well, however it had the cheapest & nastiest TC fitted, so i was told.
So in the end a new H-Duty TC & pump Seal & all is well.
It does look as though you should try to get rid of the fault codes first as you have a strong/reputable TC already in.
