    Hi,

Is it still locking OK when cold, ie when you first go over 50 ?

If so then this would suggest the lockup clutch is OK,

Also when the lockup clutches burn up, you usually feel it try to lock at low throttle and then it slips as you gas it, if it locks fine first time then doesn't try at all it sounds like a control issue as opposed to converter clutch,

    Hi Dave,

Firstly, thank you for your support. I've found that I haven't had to wait long at all for email responses. Even with the time differences this has been great.

I'll work out how to try the scenario you sent in the email and will report back via email.

And to answer your question it does lock up each time when cold with no problems at all......

    Cheers
    Caine

Same here. Ashcroft HD converter and an alive tune. It either locks up solid with no slip (as it should) or locks with slip when you feed the throttle during lockup. Had the loom to the auto checked and monitored the auto with the nanocom with no electronic faults. I also had the lockup solenoid replaced to be sure.

I might have to contact Ashcroft again. Hope its not a common theme with the Ashcroft HD converter. I paid the extra based on reputation on here and it was supposedly HD. Now I'm thinking I should have gone with a local company.
