    Transmission cooler line removal

Im in the middle of replacing all of my coolant hoses, thermostat, water pump, alternator oil seal etc and noticed that the drivers side auto cooler line is weeping at the cooler. Thinking that now is the time to fix this by getting these auto hoses replaced I cut through one as it's quickfit was too hard to manipulate. I decided to disconnect it once it was out with the radiator. Now I'm onto taking the pipes from the transmission. RIIIIGHT!! Has anyone ever taken the top pipe off of the auto. It seems pretty much impossible without the exhaust coming off. Any hints will be much appreciated.

I was a bit skeptical at that dropping the pipe would make much of a difference. Anyway I dropped the pipe from the turbo and unbolted it from the rear. I left the crossmembers alone and simple shifted the pipe sideways. To my great pleasure, there sits the pipe fitting with good visibility and reasonable access. Never thought that exhaust was the issue. Cheers.
